Jallikattu - The Ancient sport event of Tamil Nadu is one of the most popular festivals of the state. It is a traditional demonstration in which a bull, is freed into a gathering
of people, and numerous members make an effort to grip the large hump on the
bull's back with both arms and hang down on to it while the bull tries to getaway. It is estimated that thousands of tourist from all over the world and India attend for the function. It was originated and was very popular among Aayars, a community who lived
in the Mullai of Tamil region during the ancient period (400 - 100 BC). This is performed every year during January on the event of Mattu Pongal.
